Lagos to the World
Born on 9 October 1994 in Ikorodu, Lagos, one of seven children from her father's two marriages. Farid Benstiti, her coach at Dalian Quanjian, is the mentor she names most, saying he "was like a father" to her. He recalls giving her "no favours in training" and still calls her part of his family. In 2021 she told FIFA's Playon podcast that 2Baba's "Ifana Ibaga" topped her playlist through a hard early stretch.
England and China
Signed for Liverpool in January 2015, then moved to Arsenal in 2016. In February 2017 she joined Dalian Quanjian in China, won the league and finished as the Chinese Super League's top scorer in 2017.
Barcelona's Africa Queen
Joined Barcelona on loan in January 2019 and permanently that May. She won five Liga F titles, two Champions Leagues (2020-21, 2022-23) and finished 2021-22 as the league's top scorer. Over five years she scored 115 goals in 160 games, fourth on the club's all-time list.
