About Bradley Barcola
Bradley Barcola has gone from a fringe Lyon reserve to a two-time Champions League winner in barely three years, his searing pace and directness making him one of Europe's most exciting young wide forwards. Three Ligue 1 titles and back-to-back Champions League triumphs with Paris Saint-Germain have been followed by a French Nations League scoring record and a World Cup semi-final — and now a reported transfer chase drawing interest from across the Premier League and beyond.
Bradley Barcola's story
From Lyon's Reserves to a €45m Move
Born in Villeurbanne, on the edge of Lyon, to a French mother and Togolese father, Barcola joined Lyon's academy at eight and made his first-team debut in November 2021. A breakout 2022-23 season, in which he scored the winner against eventual champions PSG, convinced the Parisians to pay €45 million for him that August — a huge fee for a player with only 47 senior appearances to his name.
Champions League Glory
Barcola's rise at PSG accelerated fast: named Ligue 1's signing of the season in his first term, then a stunning 2024-25 campaign in which he scored 14 Ligue 1 goals and added 10 assists, was picked in the UNFP Team of the Year, and set up the fifth goal in PSG's 5-0 demolition of Inter Milan in the 2025 Champions League final — the club's first-ever European Cup. PSG retained the trophy the following season, beating Arsenal on penalties in the 2026 final in Budapest to become back-to-back European champions.
France's Fastest Goal in 90 Years
Barcola scored 12 seconds into a Nations League match against Italy in September 2024 — the fastest French goal in nine decades. He carried that form to the 2026 World Cup, where he was central to a France side that reached the semi-finals before losing to eventual champions Spain.
A Premier League Summer
PSG have offered Barcola a choice: sign a new contract or leave for a fee reportedly set at €150m. He has walked away from extension talks, with Liverpool the frontrunners in a chase that also involves Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Chelsea — though a valuation gap between the two clubs remains unresolved.
