Port Macquarie to the World
Caitlin Foord was born on 11 November 1994 in Port Macquarie, New South Wales. She came through the Sydney FC youth system and debuted in the W-League aged 16. A gifted footballer from childhood, her pace and directness on the left flank made her one of Australia's most exciting young players.
The Portland Years
Foord joined Portland Thorns in the NWSL in 2016, improving significantly in the professional American environment. Her performances there attracted Arsenal's attention and she signed for the London club in 2020 — becoming one of the most sought-after wide players in the women's game.
Arsenal's Key Player
At Arsenal, Foord has been consistently outstanding — one of the WSL's most direct and dangerous wingers. Her partnership with Beth Mead on Arsenal's left flank has been one of the WSL's most exciting attacking combinations. She scored Arsenal's first WSL goal of multiple seasons and has been among the top performers in the league.
2023 World Cup & Future
Foord was a key player for Australia in the 2023 Women's World Cup on home soil. Her performances helped the Matildas reach the semi-finals — the best result in Australian women's football history. She remains one of Australia's most important players and Arsenal's go-to wide attacker.
