About Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones is the Toxteth-born midfielder who worked his way through Liverpool's academy to become a first-team regular and, in November 2024, an England international who scored on his debut. Two Premier League titles and well over 200 appearances for his boyhood club have followed a path that started with a penalty shoot-out winner as a teenager.

Curtis Jones's story

A Scouser Through and Through

Jones joined Liverpool's academy at nine and grew up in Toxteth, a few miles from Anfield. He signed his first professional contract in February 2018 and made his first-team debut in the FA Cup against Wolves in January 2019, aged 17.

Youngest Captain, Title Winner

In February 2020, aged 19, he became Liverpool's youngest-ever captain, leading the club's youngest-ever starting line-up to victory over Shrewsbury in the FA Cup. He was part of the squad that won the 2019-20 Premier League — Liverpool's first top-flight title in 30 years — and lifted a second in 2024-25.

An England Debut to Remember

Called up by Lee Carsley in November 2024 after being overlooked for Euro 2024, Jones scored on his senior England debut with a backheel flick against Greece. He had already won Euro U21 2023 with England, credited with the winning goal in the final against Spain and named man of the match.

Fatherhood and an Engagement

Jones and his partner Saffron Khan welcomed their daughter, Giselle, in October 2024, and the couple announced their engagement in June 2025 — a settled family life close to home in Liverpool, away from the spotlight.
