Patrick Kluivert's story
Amsterdam's Teenager
Kluivert grew up in Amsterdam (NED) and joined Ajax's academy. He made his Eredivisie debut at 17 and scored the winning goal in the 1995 Champions League final against AC Milan at just 18 years and 327 days — making him the youngest scorer in a Champions League final at the time. His natural athleticism and technical quality made him one of Europe's most sought-after teenagers.
Barcelona Years
Kluivert signed for Barcelona (ESP) in 1998 and spent six productive years at the Camp Nou — scoring 124 goals in 257 appearances and forming strong partnerships with Rivaldo and later Ronaldinho. His tall frame, aerial ability, and technical close control made him Barcelona (ESP)'s first-choice striker for the majority of his time there.
International Record
Kluivert's international career was consistently brilliant — 40 goals in 79 appearances, including 5 goals at the 1998 World Cup and 6 goals at Euro 2000. Netherlands reached the semi-final of both tournaments. He retired as the Netherlands' second-highest scorer in history, behind Robin van Persie.
