About Christian Pulisic
Christian Pulisic is America's greatest footballer — the player who, more than any other, has shown that the United States can produce players capable of excelling at the very highest level in European football. Known as 'Captain America', he became the first American to appear in a Champions League final and continues to be the heart of the USA national team. At 27 he has matured into a reliable, clinical wide forward at AC Milan.
Christian Pulisic's story
Hershey's Hero
Pulisic grew up in Hershey, Pennsylvania and came through the youth system at Borussia Dortmund, where his father had played. He made his Bundesliga debut at 17 and immediately showed extraordinary technical quality for an American teenager. Chelsea paid £58m for him in 2019 — then a record fee for an American player. After mixed years in London (ENG), his move to AC Milan in 2023 revitalised his career.
Captain America
The nickname 'Captain America' is not just affectionate — it reflects his actual leadership role. He carries the USA's tournament hopes with a combination of technical excellence, tactical intelligence and competitive drive that marks the best players. He returned from an injury-disrupted spell to make his first AC Milan appearance of the 2025-26 season on 12 September 2026, setting up the equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Lazio.
A Croatian Passport, a Sicilian Grandmother
Pulisic's paternal grandfather Mate Pulisic was born on the Croatian island of Olib; his paternal grandmother, Johanna DiStefano, was Sicilian-American. The Croatian citizenship this made him eligible for let him move to Germany and join Borussia Dortmund before turning 16.
The Pulisic Foundation
Pulisic runs his own foundation funding youth soccer access, including a donation to Impact City FC's scholarship programme. In 2021 he returned to Hershey for the opening of fields he financed and helped design, now known as the Pulisic Stomping Grounds.
